Giving Like every thriving independent school, Hillel relies on private support from stakeholders - parents, grandparents, alumni and friends from the extended community - who share the school's vision and are committed to its mission. It is only through the generosity of friends that Hillel can ensure the community's next generation of Jewish grandchildren.
When you make a gift to Hillel, you have an impact on young lives. It is an everlasting difference that reaches from the classroom today to the community tomorrow. Your gift is an investment that directs the rewards of lifelong learning and Jewish values to a new generation. The return on your investment is a future bright with Hillel graduates as responsible, knowledgeable Jewish adults committed to Judaism, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel. When you support Hillel, you preserve Jewish continuity.
Annual Fund As at most of the nation's private schools, tuition covers most but not all of the costs of Hillel's daily operations. This reflects a national trend for private day schools, according to Independent School Management. The Annual Fund appeals to parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends for support that makes a difference in the lives of current students. It is vital to Hillel's day-to-day in the form of classroom supplies, technology, field trips, professional development, extracurricular programs, campus enhancements, security and other needs as they arise. Thus, the Annual Fund benefits every student, every teacher, every parent...every day.
Ma'ayan Society The Hebrew word Ma'ayan means spring - a continual source of water that flows naturally from within the earth, enabling all living things to grow. It symbolizes the generosity that comes from within your heart, preserving Hillel's capacity to educate, cultivate and inspire the Jewish community's youngest generation. Through your membership of the Ma'ayan Society, our children will grow into knowledgeable, responsible Jewish adults.
A Jewish community day school should itself be a wellspring, developing young people ready to replenish, refresh and rejuvenate the community through their commitment to Judaism, the Jewish people and Israel. As aMa'ayan Society member, you will help Hillel fulfill this mission, and you will transform lives, initiate change and preserve traditions.Together, we will teach our children to conserve the ma'ayan that flows naturally from within all of us, giving life to the next generation.
As a Ma'ayan Society member, you...
...enable Hillel to meet core operational commitments and maintain educational excellence
...strengthen Hillel's academic programs, faculty roster and learning environment
...secure financial aid for Hillel families who otherwise might not be able to afford a Jewish education
...allow Hillel to uphold fiscal responsibility today while it strategically plans for the future so it may provide the finest Jewish education for generations to come.
...support a cause important to you.

Sponsor a Student More than 20% of Hillel families require tuition assistance to provide their children with a Jewish day school education. This year, Hillel providedmore than $1.5 million in grants. As costs have increased and the effects of the economy are felt by everyone, it has become increasingly more challenging for some parents. But as a Jewish community, it is the responsibility of us all to assure we reach as many Jewish students as possible, regardless of a family's ability to pay.
You can help by becoming sponsor and ensuring a child's future success. Your gift of $12,000 to the Hillel Scholarship Fund fulfills the tuition of a qualified student who might otherwise not be able to attend Hillel. Your generous contribution can be paid in full or on a schedule.
Your reimbursement of this child's academic and personal success will be reinvested when he in turn becomes a Jewish adult aware of his responsibility to give back and make a difference...because you did so for him.
Volunteering Through its many committees, associations and campaigns, Hillel offers meaningful volunteer opportunities for parents, alumni, grandparents and all other interested community members. Hillel benefits from the gifts of time and talent of many volunteers. They expand what is available to children through such roles as committee members, activity and event coordinators, HIP/PTA members and guest speakers. Students also serve as volunteers. Involvement of parents is encouraged in all Hillel happenings, such as parenting workshops, planning committees, volunteer opportunities and HIP/PTA. Throughout the school year, specific occasions like specifically call for parent involvement. Hillel appreciates family involvement during these important events and requests that parents let HIP/PTA or the administration know when and for what activities they are available. Write to HIP/PTA at hip@hillel-nmb.net.
Hillel is honored to recognize those who support the school with charitable gifts. The annual giving opportunities listed above are for recognition only and do not imply any quid pro quo action on the part of the school. Gifts to Hillel are tax-deductible, per IRS guidelines.
